how to create butterfly farm?

i see several times people use it, but when i try to do same - its not works for me

when i see it was like 1 butterfly per sec and dont have even to move, just hitting them

i plant 4 flowers, maybe i need some hat to use or something drop near???

You should have a lot more flowers than 4. Around 12 flowers is a good start, and constantly add more to that number. Then you'll get many butterflies spawning.

You also need to check around your butterfly farm that there aren't any rogue flowers near it, if your farm is the only thing butterflies can spawn in near you, they will spawn.

For example in the desert, no natural flowers = perfect butterfly farm place

what about trees, buildings, other stuff?
or only other flowers matters?

Only flowers/evil flowers because butterflies spawn from them.

also, why when i m try to catch them by press F nothing happens, only have to CTRL+F and he kill them, not catch

what the difference between same butterfly and when F or CTRL+F works?

you have to make a bugnet and press spacebar near a butterfly to catch them

Ctrl+F is to attack friendly mobs

pressing F is the keyboard shortcut for "attack", but to prevent you from punching your nearby friend, you can only attack hostile monsters. in order to attack "friendly" creatures, you need to hold down the "force attack" key (default control) and order an attack (by clicking or pressing F). if you want to catch them, you need to make and equip a bug net, and press spacebar near them.

or just have some ninja reflexes and click on the butterfly with the bugnet then you can catch them too

Or if you are lazy and clearly not Webber, bring a catcoon, imprison him near the flowers = profit.
This does not spawn krampuses if you are trying to farm them, but the cat does his job. just bring one cat, tho. Two may fight to death.
