Headbase is your character's head sprite when wearing open hats or no hat at all.
Headbase_hat is your character's head sprite when they are wearing a hat.
If your character doesn't have much going on hair-wise (as in, nothing is sticking upward or outward that much), you can copy-paste everything from the headbase folder into the _hat folder (be sure to re-name everything)
However, if your character does have some crazy hair/head thing going on (vanilla examples being Wilson, Winona, Wortox, and Wormwood), you can crop out the extruding part that would otherwise clip through headwear. (No redraw needed, you can just use an erase tool)
For example, Wortox's horns dissapear from his sprite when he wears a hat.
