HELP PLEASE
When I run DST, it just turns off and synchronizes. Yesterday I played normally. But after the update on September 14, 2017 the game stopped working. If you run the game through the root folder, you receive an error: "The entry point to the inet_pton procedure was not found in the DL2 library of WS2_32.dll"

P.S. I have windows xp SP3

Try these if you haven't yet:
-run an antivirus program to check for Trojans/malware/etc.
-check for driver updates.
-try a registry repair tool.

Wouldn't hurt to try this just to see:
-right click on the game in your Steam Library,
-click "properties"
-click the "local files" tab at the top
-click "verify integrity of game"
*if any file is missing it will replace it automatically

Try moving the klei folder in "my documents" somewhere you can see it, like your desktop so you don't load your data and run the game.

The klei folder was there from the very beginning

Yes, move it somewhere else and try to play without it. Some people have had problems with the Klei folder when the game is updated.

Open the DXRedist and VCRedist folders and run vcredist_x86.exe and DXSetup.exe, install them, and run DST. If they tell you to reboot, do so.

When installing DirectX, an error occurred:
An internal system error occurred. To determine the cause of the error, look at the DXError.log and DirectX.log files in the Windows folder

Can you post here what the logs say?

Forgot to say, I've had problems with installing DirectX when I have an antivirus/firewall active, try disabling both while installing DirectX and then re-enable them when finished, DirectX is needed to run Don't Starve Together anyways.

In that case, I would suggest to download WS2_32.dll from a site you find trustable and follow the instructions of where to place it.

Seems that today's hotfix was only about fixing issues for running the game in Windows XP.
