Is King Crab OP or is there a trick?

I'm unsure if I'm doing this right..
Before trying to fight the boss in survival, I ran a test in creature to learn what does/doesn't work. Well, I wanted him to have low HP, so I cave him some blue gems and pearl's pearl, spawned a boat under the boss, 1,000 gunpowders, three campfires, and backed off. He lived.. tried attacking with long range weapons and that didn't seem to help much, boats were sinking constantly due to some sort of area of affect attack, and what ended up winning are a massive pack of ice hounds I spawned which he wasn't able to defend himself against.. Why,, is he so strong..? The amount of resources required here seems extreme, super dangerous because of the water, and he's required to access the late game moon content...

More like poorly designed, he has way too much HP, and his fight revolves entirely around destroying the boat rather than having to tank or kite him, if you noticed he has no way of directly attacking you, which is why hes defenseless against enemies that arent on the boat.

The main strat to killing him is using a lot of Bee Mines and getting outside of his range attack (The AOE effect that damages the boats) and letting the bees do the work.

The Crab King Balenced Around Fight with Multiple People and Left Alone Solo Player with Small Space thats why Many People Dislike it, The Knowledge its People Fight The Crab When other Manage The Boat to keep afloat.

Crab King have 4 Pattern The Claw that Broke The Boat, The Bulb attack that Poke Hole at Boat, Freeze attack That Prevent Player to Do an Action and Self Heal

And Usually Many People Failed to Prevent his Self Heal to the Point he looks like OP

Then The Jewel that inserted in it have Saveral effect that buff him too

Like People Said above Bee its The Best Way To kill it but you can also Use Ice Staff to Prevent Self Heal A more Legit way
then Weather Pain and excessive Force to Prevent Self Heal

Like i mentioned earlier, the CK has no real way of directly attacking its opponents, which is why mere bees can kill it, all its attacks are largely centered around destroying the boat itself.

I rarely ever use GP so idk about that, maybe you missed?

The King Crab is quite over powered and considered harder than the ancient fuelweaver. But when there's more than 1 person, it becomes a joke. Especially if there are wolfgangs

You can Kill it with Gunpowder its just you Failed to Stop The Self Heal Crab King Does and Remember Everyboss Have Gunpowder Resistance after Blow so You cant Instant Kill Boss with Short time Chain Gunpowder and need to wait the Resistance to Wear off

I know someone already mentioned it via a video link, but honestly you're better off using killer bees (80 should do) and pearl + 10 purple gems and wait somewhat nearby to keep him loaded, but far enough not to get hit... Along with star callers so bees don't stay frozen.


Only reason Crab king is hard is because he only attacks the boat, and if boat goes down you "die", or well lose half of your stuff and have health penalty.
It was a nice idea, but kinda meh that bees are best option imo.

Only time Crab king can kill you without destroying boat is by him freezing you to death. But again that's because of temp not him damaging you.

A friend of mine introduced me to this strategy. Basically, when the crab waves it's hand in the air, one person (with little to no time for error) just starts hammering the ice staff on it. This stops the Geysers. The claws though someone else has to deal with while the other works on the king. I THINK we stayed on one boat, not so sure.

That's the point, dst is meant to be played with multiple people. If you want to have balanced bosses, play ds

I mean it is meant to be a multiplayer game.
Some people are able to do it as just the solo.

But otherwise there is a mod to reduce the health of these raid bosses.
Although for Crab king, I just recommend using bees even if you're playing in multiplayer because boat mechanics suck.

I mean, singleplayer Don't Starve is HIGHLY outdated compared to DST, and a lot of people play dst alone, so, wouldn't be a big deal if some of the raid bosses (Like crabking and beequeen) have less health when you set a world to only one player (or even make this configurable)
