Firstly, the CCP (chinese communist party) is funded almost entirely through tax, it has literally nothing to do with Tencent. When you support Tencent, you aren't supporting the chinese government.
Secondly, the ties that Tencent have to the CCP are only surface deep. Tencent is basically a smokescreen for the CCP. Imagine the CCP as a school principal who hates video games. Think of Tencent as the videogame club in school. The principal can shut that club down whenever they want, so the club needs to do what the principal tells them to do, or they'll get kicked out of China. These tasks include the following: Censorship as well as releasing "patriotic games" whatever the ♥♥♥♥ that means. Basically if someone plays a game that tencent owns and is caught on stream saying "free hongkong" they'll get banned.
Lastly, There is absolutely NO EVIDENCE to prove that Tencent is actually OWNED by the Chinese Communist party. Like I said before, the CCP actually HATES video games. They're similar to american republicans who blame violence on gamers, as well as calling gamers unproductive members of society. There's no reason for them to buy Tencent since they don't want to be associated with gaming at all.
To summarize: If you think supporting Tencent means you're supporting the CCP, you're simply flat out wrong. If you dislike the way Tencent monetises their games, that's perfectly valid. I've spent well over $2000 on league of legends, so I understand better than anyone how tencent monetises their games (yes, Tencent ownes 100% of riot games).
More people should use their brains a little. I think its good when people see whats going on, but more importantly also speak up about it. I know most of us are sheep, but not all of us. I hate bullies and stalker companies.
Having said this. Yes I wont support klei anymore. 100% truth. I very rarely buy games anyway. One less company to support wont damage me anyway.
