Gift a skin?

I was trying to buy a skin to gift someone from within the game (it isn't available as a standalone skin on Steam anywhere that I can see) and there appears to be no way of doing that. Afaik if I were to purchase the skin on my own account, it wouldn't be giftable/tradeable, either. So is there just no way of purchasing a single skin for a friend?

There are a few skins/skin sets available on the "Don't Starve Together" Steam store page.
All of those are able to be gifted to a friend.

There are also some individual skins available on the Steam Marketplace that you can purchase for yourself, then "trade" to a friend (they don't have to trade anything for it to go through(.

Yeah, unfortunately this is a skin set that isn't available on the marketplace, and buying the entire set of skins and gifting that would be uselessly expensive. I'll have to put a bug in Klei's ear that people would like to gift single skins. Thanks for the answer though, drinkmetogrow.

Winona's Merrymaker and no, I am not interested in buying the entire Merrymaker's Survivor Chest for a single skin.

I put in a request with Klei, though given they direct suggestions to the forums I have no way of knowing if that request will ever reach the people in charge of their MTX.

The holiday skin pieces can't be traded or sold. Gifting the whole thing would be the only way to give that to someone else. I think about a week ago, all the single skin sets were half off, could've got it for $1.49 or so.

They could weave the item. You could send them some items to unravel into spool and make it on their own.
