What year is it in DST?
Back when I played DS, I thought the year was 2016 in the characters world. (Because I played it in 2016.) But everyone in the game doesn't talk about phones or computers. But I thought "Well, there in the middle of nowhere. So they wouldn't talk about stuff like that." but they don't act like it's that time at all. So what year is in their world?

its still 2016, there was no computers and phones at 2016

As in, what time period does the game take place in? IIRC, it's set around the 1920s, give or take a decade.

Yes. What does it take place in. And also that's a long time ago... I think the whole phone and computers thing was a mistake to say.

It Shadow realm Called "The Constant" its a Hub with Many Branch like The Forge and Gorge, its Canon you can "Escape" but if you escape via Sea you will arrive at Shpwrecked DLC or you Fly away with Hot ballon you will Arrive at Hamlet DLC its Unknown way out and Many Way in thanks to Maxwell he Suck so many people and Enjoy see people Suffering, and time Work Different At Dont Starve World

The game takes place in the present, but the characters arrived in this other dimension before computers or phones where a thing, so they don`t know they exist.

Well, according to the lore of DS, Maxwell apparently went missing (got transported to the constant) in 1906. We don't have much clues as to when other characters were transported/trapped there, but it probably takes place around then, if not a small bit later.
