Damaged figures set piece (you can't mine them): carry your suspicious marble here to repair the three statues (rook, knight, bishop). Destroy them during full moon for some secret boss fight goodness.
Errrr... but there are boss fights anyway, and enough gears from fighting existing pieces, It seems to be a dangerous, super-complicated, multi-step set of procedures that yields very little gain.
I think I'll just ignore this facet of the game. It decreases my serviceability rather than the opposite.
It's not about gain. Technically in an RPG it's pointless to defeat the last boss because there is nothing to use the gear it drops on...
So it's your choice, do you want to experience every challenge the game has to offer or not. that's your choice to make.
But mate, we play DST here.... I understood that in DS there's some sort of plot where Maxwell (? not sure that's the name) put you through a maze or smthng, but that is not what I play.
The only reason for this fight to exist is that it finishes the story/lore in the caves and serves as the way to make ruins renewable, which is relevant when it's not just solo and resources are more likely to out over time.
