plants do not grow in winter so stock up on twigs and grass. i would worry about grass more due to the fact that you can get twigs in winter by a Twiggy Tree or planting a tree then digging it immediantly. on day 30 please get away from your base as on day 30 Deerclops is about Deerclops is the winter season boss it is easy to defeat but you should still prep with log suits and spears and football helms. Good luck! :)
there iis also an igloo nearby, do we go near it?
we are on day 29 about to fight the boss
we are not close to base
have 4 beefalo dudes to take the first hits
9 teeth traps
pan flute
we have:
spears
log suit
football helmet
are we ♥♥♥♥♥♥?
If you have none of the above don't even bother. Bosses absolutely slaughter normal mobs and the only reason the above mentioned things work is the sheer number.
That being said bosses are generally endurance fights. Bait a hit, hit them a few times repeat until dead.
Don't rely on traps or mobs unless you know exactly what you are doing.
Spears and log suits are fine, but due to the low damage output you will turn insane, so be prepared to deal with shadow creatures. Be sure to build a fire pit and fuel I before the fight. You might be fighting a while especially when learning kite patterns.
You will need an iceflingomatic by Summer to prevent fires.
Spring is fairly simply, have a lightning rod and get some water protection gear. An umbrella for one and the eyebrella from the deerclops eye for the other guy.
Spring is harvesting season due to the rain, so if you relocated twigs and grass to your base and have some farms you will swim in resources soon.
There isn't much reason to explore, just collect resources.
There is a chance of frog rain, so you might want to make a field of normal traps to kill all of them for easy frog legs.
Summer will wither plants and start fires so that's why you want a flingomatic. Protect your base and your resources. To combat the heat there are numerous ways, you can craft heat insulation gear like a floral shirt but honestly I'm more of a fan of thermal stones and food that cools you down (if you have enough ice left over). Stop using your fire pit and get an endothermic fire pit instead.
As for bosses, moose/goose in spring can spawn multiple times but is an incredibly easy boss, remember to catch your weapon when she toots her horn and be mindful of the demonic kids after she dies.
The antlion is the easiest boss in the game and you can find it in the Oasis desert. Feed it a cold thermal to trigger the fight in summer.
Alternatively, if you have ways to deal with sanity drain you can spend the whole summer in the caves. Never overheat and no fires down there. It's probably the best season to explore down there.
