How to change character skins in a multiplayer game?

Whenever I relaunch the world, I just join straight in and my skin isn't changed, even tho I set it as my outfit in the main menu of the game?

In your Item Collection options, make sure you hit Accept Outfit when you go edit a specific character (click on the picture of the character). The character appearance on the top of the interface should appear as how you "accepted" it, so when you launch a new world and choose that same character, it should appear as the way you dressed them up.

Another quick way to make different appearance is to use the save button (looks like a save disk icon) when you go to the character options when you're not in the game, to create "templates" for the character so you can quickly change swap them out before you launch your world.

If you're already in the game, or already created a world you would need to craft a Wardrobe[dontstarve.fandom.com] in order to change appearance. You can't change your appearance when the world and character is set in stone without the Wardrobe. Another way to do it, I'd imagine is to swap to a different character and swap back using the Celestial Portal[dontstarve.fandom.com].
