New Overpowered Winona Setup for hounds & mass spider farming :)
https://i.imgur.com/BCs8RCc.png

It splits the nitre between each machine being used, e.g 1 day = 1 machine, 8 machines = 1/8 day = 1 minute.

In the art for the rework, we can see willow behind winona
Oh right, forgot about that detail. Yeah, Willow is probably gonna be next for the revamp.
There are theories going around that Willow was responsible for the fire in the factory, so the Animation video gotta be connected to Winona somehow

endtables are all fine and good, only issue is that making enough of them get expensing real quick unless you're playing maxwell. if you used cave in boulder from antlion during summer in the caves then i can see the catapult being a solid choice for defense, however the catapult is exclusive to winona so houndius is the only choice for everyone other then wickerbottom. i am excited to see how the catapults work against bosses, especially beequeen

It's uhhh really not hard to make them... Having 2 people can get it done 1 season with proper priority

thats the thing tho, endtables shouldn't be a priority when things like ruins, fuelweaver, dfly and bq exist. im not saying catapults are bad, in fact they seem really good against bosses more so then the average hound attacks. i assume they have their own hp regen because they need that hp regent to compete with the shootius. you already need to spend gems/nitre to get them ready for a hound attack, and them not regenerating hp would mean you'd have to spend more resources to keep them up and running. another thing i just thought of, if your hound trap area is too far away from your base, you might not have time to fuel the generators before the hounds spawn, and when fire hounds spawn you'll need an ice flingo as well since the generator, catapult and spotlight are all flammable. also everything is easier with multiple people, im talking from a singleplayer perspective

I will build a great wall of end tables and believe me nobody builds better end table walls than I do.
And we'll have the maxwell puppets will pay for it.

Along with that we'll have catapults all along the side to destroy hounds and spiders that dare try and cross it.

I'm sorry i'm very confused you said they seem really good against bosses more so then the average hound attacks? they're garbage against bosses and godly against 200+ hounds...
Issue lies in them glitching in.

hounds outrun the projectile from the catapult (last i checked) meanwhile bosses are big and slow, easy targets for the catapult. if you just tank a boss like bq they are really good cause of their aoe killing the grumbles and providing wigfrid spear damage to the bq. the catapults aren't good on their own, they need you to help protect them, but as long as agression is kept off them, they are solid choices for killing bosses. houndius is still my favourite tho fight me

yeah but wheres the fun in that? hound waves are meant to be challenging, and even tho you aren't meant to solo waves, cheesing it is kinda boring, just like wickerbottom and her tentacles on bq. this is just my preference but i should at the very least have to run away from hounds, not just sit in some small box. to each their own i suppose but i still like houndius more then catapult cause hes a friend.

I wonder when they will fix the endtable and remove the collision since they are not really supposed to be 'indestructable walls' but rather, end tables to throw a little light bulb on and thats it.

I mean, you see practically every exploit use them, and it's dumb. So I'll be happy when it's nerfed.

I think you forget the fact that majority of Don't starve is barely challenging, cough cough; Wicker & Wolfgang exist.. and now Winona..

give bees 10000000000000000000 hp with shadow rook attack range and they deal 1000000000000000000000000 x 1000000000000000000000 dmg to the player and 1 x 0 dmg to mobs (btw 1000000000000000000000000 x 1000000000000000000000 is 1e+45 whatever that is lol)

Forget about hounds. If you know how they atack... easy to deal with.
Forget about spiders. If you know how to make spider/bunny farm... nothing new.
But these catapults will change game when it comes to farmig Shadow Splumonkeys.
Before this update only Wickerbottom could do that. Now for relatively low cost and time you can make that happend with Winona.
Still it does not make Winona OP! You don't need any defence in DST!

PS. Houndius shootius is realy useless, to make anythink with that creature you need at least 5 or 6 of them... meaning 6 or 7 seasons = around 60 normal hours. I'm not even going to dive in that topic It's not worth it.
Baarko Mar 9, 2019 @ 8:40am
it really isn't useless tho, it has a much more accurate projectile then the catapult and can be used to autofarm pretty much any mob in the game that doesn't break walls. A good example of this are bunnymen, they can be hostile towards you, but wont break walls to get to you. But yes, you certainly need more then one to get anything done quickly. But I mean what else do you do with all those eyes and horns you get from deerclops and ancient guardian? Also 2-3 houndius things will eliminate a need for hound protection altogether.

Basically, the houndius and catapult aren't useless but they each have their own uses. Catapult seems better for farms and bq and houndius seems better for defense from hounds (this is assuming you aren't using end tables/marble sculptures/cave in boulders for unbreakable defense)
