Can you play Don't Starve Together alone?
I have bought the regular Don't Starve game a while ago, because I had no friends and thought you can play don't starve only in multiplayer.

Now I have one friend who plays Don't Starve as well, but I only got the regular version.

So I am asking myself if the Don't Starve Together standalone is basically Don't Starve with multiplayer added and all sorts of new content and DLCs and if so I have wasted 15 Euros.

Yes you indeed can play it solo, and personally in my opinion it has alot more content. It may be a bit harder though going against bosses solo.

If you have a low-end PC, i recommend going to singleplayer DS, because you can experience lag when playing alone even if youre hosting (becuase your PC is hosting a server, even if you have it set to alone)
Single player has way more content if you count DLC. Also the bosses an enemy’s have way more health in dst and it requires a better computer to run.

Personally I prefer single player(more content and balanced better) but they are both worth buying.
