How to kill the fuelweaver (solo)
I know the basics: Get sanity food, lazy explorers, dark swords nightmare amulet, stay near the edges and focus the woven shadows. Thing is, whenever i try to hit the woven shadows, i auto target the fuelweaver who ofc is shielded cause this boss is cancer, so i get knocked back and theres like 5 shadows all grouped together who the fuel weaver eats in one bite; +2k hp. i try to use weather pains, i run out of them and the fuel weaver is still only at like 4-6k hp.

now keep in mind i am doing this as webber. I have done it as wolfgang (in a practice fight) so i could swap to him, but i want to avoid that as i started this world as webber and want to beat the fuel weaver with him, as i consider him to be the final boss of dst. do i just need to bring tons of weather pains? another problem i seem to get is that i run out of lazy explorers.i bring 3 to a fight and use them all and hes still not dead. im thinking of trying something with gunpowder, but i would like to beat him with melee.

basically im looking for tips on how to beat him cause i cleared out my ruins in the first summer and kinda dont have anything else to do in the caves.

If the lazy explorer is for the bone cage, then here is a tip: If you stick next to the edge of the map where the walkable space ends, only half of the cage will generate, you can then ignore it.

i am aware of that, in fact i believed i posted about it in the original post. i have found a way to drastically shorten the fight, all i need is 40 gunpoweder and to use it when the fuelweave is one dark sword hit from dropping below 10k hp. then i just have 2k hp to get through. i will prob bring 3 weather pains for the fight still. thank you anyways :)

Trust me fuelweaver fight needs alot of training. Ideally u want to have your world and weapon / armory / food / arena prepped for the fight and THEN repeat the fight the hell alot.
Like for example lets say your main world is on day 200, you got all preped, then count day 201 as your start fight game time. Then don't bother if you fail or make mistakes, try to train / tinker / test the fight how many crazy times you want, until you feel comfortable with his attack pattern and stuff. Then rollback to day 201 and do the fight 1 time legit and hopefully kill him "first try".
:DSTskull:

Fuelweaver fight is special, since the engine was never meant to support such "complex" fight mechanic. Many times the teleport out of bone prison or the force attack shadow hand strategy can go completelly fail, because you either misclick items on the floor or force attack hits terrorbeak INSTEAD of the shadow hands etc etc. The fight tbh is badly programmed and balanced for solo fighters. Yes it's possible to succeed and solo speedrun them, but very frustrating and many try and errors. :dsfight:

Also lag and computer performance plays a big part on this fight. If you get any input lag or server internet lag the fight is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. You need 100% precise controls to be able to stop healing / stop shadow hands / stop invincible shields. :dshound:

TL;DR
Do a test server, make test armor / food / arena -> train the fight till you got it right solo -> don't give up until you done the quest without cheat or endless life invincible. You can only train the fight legit with rollback and see how much damage / healing / armor / positioning you gonna need.
I wouldn't blame you to give up the fight or cheese cheat it with gunpowder cause it is programmed badly and fight engine badly optimized :p

PS: We did kill the fuelweaver today on a klei public server with like 5-7 people. If all people know the fight and all strategy he is easy as hell ... Even if u have lag or input delay from gamepad don't matter cause u got 5-6 players as backup ^_^

Good luck :meaty:

I have been practicing in solo worlds, but i just can seem to kill him without gunpowder. the closest i've gotten is 3k hp, but then he ended up healing and i ran out of weather pains. i have done it with wolfgang (ofc) however i want to do it once with webber. i did get a new comp for christmas and dst has become much smoother to play now, so a bad comp isn't a problem. nonetheless, thank you for the long response :)

How many times did you try him ever in lifetime though ?
Was it 1 day practice ? He needs patience :p

And trust me computer is always the problem. It is not about the CPU or graphic cards. Blue tooth mouse , gamepads can still have input delay even if you got a 4000$ computer.
Also even solo servers can have lag if something is weird with your internal router system :p
I would just suggest you train this fight at least 30-50 times. With various test and tweaks.
Then it should work. You need persistence. Yes 3k hp is very good, but you can get better really!

PS: for first timer to be really safe craft at least 4 weather pains minimum !
and maybe 2 lazy explorers

I've just started practicing him since i've usually never bothered with ruins stuff, since i just wanted to survive. The main things i run out of are weather pains and lazy explorerers, so i guess i just gotta craft more of those. i dont use bluetooth keyboards/mice since i'm aware that they could cause input lag, however in the practice fights today, i've found that either im just hitting terrorbeaks or the fuelweaver instead of shadow hands or woven shadows. il just have to practice more.

I told you the fight engine is bad. basically force attack is dumb and can accidently attack terrorbeaks instead of fuelweaver main boss. Also keep in mind bee queen crown is a must to easily fight the insanity aura.

Also keep in mind various custom mods can help you with targetting and mouse issues. There are no click to walk and whatever mods made for forge, but MIGHT also work for fuelweaver.
Just look into mod workshop.

Best mods are hotkey mods for quick switch bone helmet / bee queen crown or quick eat sanity food and weapon switches / weather pain switching!

^ this mod can be annoying for some people though, i deactivated it later once i got good training for fuelweaver

And whenever you get the 5 second insanity stun quickly switch back to bee crown and instantly eat taffy / cooked cactus / jerky to stay sane and not be stun locked. The biggest problem is shadow hand healing + shadow stunlocked resetting his life all the time to 100% so you could fight him 5 days straight and not get anything done.

So usually it's better to test his fight 1 or max 2 ingame days and then instantly rollback and retest and practice. It is mostly waste of time to train more then 10+ minutes the fight. Once he did heal back up to 100% it is kinda failure and waste of ressources :c
But yes in theory you can win him first time in an almost endless crazy 30 min fight, but i don't recommend this situation oO

GL ^_^
