They, usually, die during hound wave. Or by treeguard.
Combat shadows regenerate health fast, but still only have 75 HP, which makes them useless against any serious foe that can oneshot them.
yeah it sucks. I have 2 loggers, 1 digger and 1 miner. The miner keeps on destroying my marble tree farm, my birch trees are dying because of the loggers. But i didnt know the diggers dig up graves by themselves.
Way I coped: was to only have shadows out constanlty, in beginning.
Later, I had them out for big woodcutting/minig sessions, wood and stones don't spoil. Even when they won't fit inventory, left them on ground and collected later.
With marble trees, they can be planted in synchronized groups, but I sometimes ended up mining marble without shadows, too inconvenient and not much faster.
