How to find the new celestial moonrock in old worlds?

Did klei retrofit that update into older worlds with 2000+ days or am i out of luck?
I searched my mosaic and other rock biome and couldn't find anywhere. Did it just bug out or spawn somewhere else. Any idea how to find it and renovate my portal?
I really like my old world and it would be sad to have to start new x_x

From my experience it can take longer. For me it spawned in about two years after the update, and in a new world we found it during the second spring (while we were looking for it all the time).
