Don't Starve Together

Don't Starve Together

A wonderful material called nitre
I don’t mean to brag, but I’m pretty good at the single player don’t starve. I do like playing don’t starve together with friends, but they tend to get killed a lot. Reviving them is easy, they just use the Florid Postern, but boosting their health back up is tedious. You need nitre in order to make booster shots, but besides that and maybe gunpowder, it’s almost useless, so we usually just throw it away. Is there an easy way to get renewable nitre? (Earthquakes don’t count because of their inconsistency and drop rates)

Besides random events like earth quakes and petrified trees, not really. My solution to you would be to check rock biomes every now and again for meteor showers, a good way to get rocks and nitre.

I looked up petrified trees on the wiki, and learned that they can spread, sort of like disease that spreads to the other plants. Do you know if a petrified tree will always spawn in the world and start spreading or does it take a while before that? I also set resource variety when making the world to classic, but I didn’t turn off petrification, does that change anything?

When we are at it, i have a question, if all trees gonna turn into the stones ones after a whole don't starve "year" , it's not gonna make getting the wood really, really hard?

I’ll assume as long as you keep them separate, it should be fine

I believe that petrification can happen out of screen too, tho I'm not sure in that. But often had to realise that mine pine forests turned to stone after some time.
But for sure birchnut trees never petrify, so wood will be always available.

petrification starts from some tree that has been planted for a very long time, and spreads only to close trees. it happens away from the screen as @Fecske says.

for long run multiplayer games, you will need to plant your own trees on some close place to farm them easy anyway. i'm pretty sure fresh trees won't petrificate. basic resources have never been a big problem when you have a bit experience on the game. I don't think you will run out of nitre or wood, at all xD no need to overthink future problems beforehand
