The shadow pi-Wait...Where is the knight?

So, I felt like doing a thing and decided to do the shadow event. I run away trying to kill the shadow rook when it is at level 2 and the knight is somewhere. I kill the rook and go to where the knight was last at and it ain't there :/ Do the shadow pieces despawn or is the shadow knight just hiding?

They despawn if left alone for too long, just like all the other ANR bosses. You have to fight all 3 at the same time to get the shadow atrium anyways, otherways you the last shadow won't level up to 3.

Aw man. What piece should I get to level 3? I want to make this a little easy

Depends on, do you solo?
If so, I recommend the rook, on cobblestones with a cane (maybe with a magiluminescence, just in case) you can kite it.
But in team the knight seems to be the best as it doesn't have an AoE attack.

Because the rook has alot of health, is that why I need magiluminescence cause it might become night?

No, for the speedbonus mainly. It is not necessary tho. For the light I usually spawn a dwarf star of polar light, that's the safest and most reliably in my opinion.
All of the shadows have a lot of health, the difference is not that much, 8100 for the knight and 10k for the rook if I'm right.
