Don't Starve Together

What is best armor for raid (cave)bosses? Like Fuelweaver or Shadow mage
We tried with a small group of friend Toadstool and failed at 30%. So now i try to improve our gear.
What armor setups are best you people think?

My ideas:

Shellmet + Marble armor
or
Thule crown + Thule armor
or
Bee crown + Nightmare armor
or
Miners hat + Shellarmor for block
or
Shadow amulett for insanity + ???

After all those years im still confused with armor, since armor works different in DS compared to DST. Any tips hints or guides? thx!

edit : Toadstool & Guardian perished, but feel free to give tipps for Fuelweaver.
@all thx for help :D

I probably would've used some super armor hat and the snurtle shell armor, just for the potential to block 100% damage. The shelmet and snurtle shell armor have lots of potential if you can get an abundance of them.

This is still coming from someone that has only killed deerclops as I don't go for the others or haven't played far enough to see them legitimately.

I would recommend using football helmets (or battle helms if you have a Wigfrid). For the chest slot: log suits are cheap and you can make a ton of them, so they're the best if you'll kite and have enough healing (make a fridge a bit further for the food). Thulecite armor or crown is great if you can get enough thulecite as well. If you wanna tank (I don't recommend, but do as you like it) I'd wear marble or shadow suits. The latter is relatively easy to craft in masses, just prepare some sanity food as well. The best would be bone armors if you have.
I'd recommend log suits and battle/football helms with kiting the most, but chose the equipment you like the most.

Sadly i don't have bone armors. First our party wants to kill toadstool and later as endboss is fuelweaver planned! But thx for tips.

@Community are there any armor guides out there? Cause the wiki article is confusing and nonsensical since DS works different to DST help D:

Please some toadstool veterans comment on this! Also idk how many weather pains are needed lol :/

I'd say best option would be thulecite armor and crown or just thulecite armor. If you don't have enough thulecite and you don't wanna reset ruins by fighting ancient fuelweaver or create a new server for fresh ruins - marble/shadow armors are great option. If you have enough resources to make them for your team, of course. Dunno about shellmet and shellarmor though, never really used them. You can also fight her with log suits and football helmets - but mushrooms deal massive damage and you will need to avoid them or have a lot of healing food/stuff.

Not entirely sure, but IIRC in DST you get the protection value of whichever armor piece has more, and the two armor pieces SHARE the durability damage when you take a hit. IDK for sure but that's what I seem to think.

For Toadstool I would recommend thuele and if its Ancient Guardian wear a football helmet for protection and do the whole get him stuck thing. If you don't plan for this then log suit or football helmet all through you can use thuele helmet.

You can make infinite thulecite with the construct-deconstruct strat. But it's not needed with those.. I did it with a group of 5 with just log armor and wig helmet. Used a gold axe on Toadstool lower dps but usable vs. the trees he makes too.

Yes, but thats alot of grinding and seem very inefficient for bigger raid parties. I usually play with 4 - 6 friends :/
I just want cool gear, but not grind for them like 500 days lol.
I wonder if Nightmare armor is worth it with a good reed farm etc?
