Don't Starve Together

Summer being so difficult has ruined this game (DST) for me.
There is a subtle balance that is struck with all of the other seasons in this game that challenge you but also give you breathing room to explore gather and get ahead for the next season. Summer is just hell. You can't walk 10 steps without taking damage, you watch your crops and kit burn and you just have to accept dying relentlessly. My wife and I used to get excited about playing this game together but now it is unplayable, frustrating and pointless as the perfect balance struck with the other seasons is absolutely lost in summer. The game comes to a screeching halt and i just have to turn it off and walk away. If it's not fixed or rebalanced in some way i'm done recommending or playing this game.

Hold up a second, there are some ways around summer.

Firstly, and what I would highly suggest is that you make a second base in the caves, since summer doesn't effect the caves as it does the overworld.

If you don't want to do that then there's also other things you can do to prevent you from overheating, such as making endothermic fire pits, crafting chilled amulets, eating ice, standing under trees, wearing a straw hat, using an umbrella/eyebrella, wearing a floral shirt, freezing thermal stones etc, the list goes on.

Having trouble with wildfires? No problem, moving to the caves will stop wildfires from occuring on the overworld.

Another alternative to that is to having a secondary base for the summer, in the overworld.

Make sure the base has ice flingomatics covering every area, and a couple endothermic pits around the place, with plenty of extra thermal stones, storing ice in an icebox is also another good idea for the summer.

If someone is playing as Willow, they can stay insane to lower their temperature too.

Craft an endothermic firepit and a thermal stone. Cool the thermal stone by the endothermic firepit and you're free to run around for awhile unaffected by the heat. When the stone turns back to it's normal color, simply recool it by the endothermic firepit and be on your way again. As far as things at your base burning, craft (and place) a flingamatic and things won't burn anymore. :)

Also the eyebrella u get from deerclops is very good for summer too as it prevents u from over heating

Or just craft a fridge or snow chester and make 2 thermal stones. Swap them back and fourth as they begin to heat up(snowchester is good for this as he is mobile).

Or do what everyone else should be doing and use that time to explore caves. Summer is the best cave season . No rain, good temperature but no overheating. Nothing lights on fire.

Summer is the ultimate cave month.

1. Make an eyebrella.
2. Carry a thermal stone.
3. Carry a stack of nitre around for endothermic fires.
Summer is now a breeze.

Or just go underground.

Summer is as easy as winter, you just don't seem to have the grasp yet. Carry a thermal stone and keep it cold. Use an eye umbrella to keep the heat down or a reguarl one. That's all you need. If you plan to stay above ground you need to either make a summer base away from your main base or use fling o matics in your reguar base. Other wise spend the summer in the cave and work on clearing the ruins and such.

Underground keeps a pretty regular temperature so it's a good idea to spend the supper month exploring the caves. so long as no one is aboveground, wildfires wont happen aboveground. Or, make a few thermal stones, try to get Ice Chester, he can keep your thermal stones cold, and set up your base in a way so that everything but your fire pit is in range of an Ice Flimgomatic. Summer can seem insane, but it's just as easy as Winter once you learn how to propperly deal with it. Or, if you really wanted to, you could make a new world and just turn off summer.

In your base :
-Ice flingomatics to cover your fields and structures (need a forest not too far for fuel)
-Endothermic fire pit

On your person :
-Eyebrella
-Cold thermal stone (use fridge or fire pit to get it cold)

Additionnal advices :
Fill one or two slots of a fridge with ice, it's a good filler, and if you can also kill mosquitoes in the marsh, you can make water balloons and extinguish fires.
