Firstly, and what I would highly suggest is that you make a second base in the caves, since summer doesn't effect the caves as it does the overworld.
If you don't want to do that then there's also other things you can do to prevent you from overheating, such as making endothermic fire pits, crafting chilled amulets, eating ice, standing under trees, wearing a straw hat, using an umbrella/eyebrella, wearing a floral shirt, freezing thermal stones etc, the list goes on.
Having trouble with wildfires? No problem, moving to the caves will stop wildfires from occuring on the overworld.
Another alternative to that is to having a secondary base for the summer, in the overworld.
Make sure the base has ice flingomatics covering every area, and a couple endothermic pits around the place, with plenty of extra thermal stones, storing ice in an icebox is also another good idea for the summer.
If someone is playing as Willow, they can stay insane to lower their temperature too.
Or just craft a fridge or snow chester and make 2 thermal stones. Swap them back and fourth as they begin to heat up(snowchester is good for this as he is mobile).
Or do what everyone else should be doing and use that time to explore caves. Summer is the best cave season . No rain, good temperature but no overheating. Nothing lights on fire.
Summer is the ultimate cave month.
2. Carry a thermal stone.
3. Carry a stack of nitre around for endothermic fires.
Summer is now a breeze.
Or just go underground.
-Ice flingomatics to cover your fields and structures (need a forest not too far for fuel)
-Endothermic fire pit
On your person :
-Eyebrella
-Cold thermal stone (use fridge or fire pit to get it cold)
Additionnal advices :
Fill one or two slots of a fridge with ice, it's a good filler, and if you can also kill mosquitoes in the marsh, you can make water balloons and extinguish fires.
