How tf would one survive as wormwood

In the log, it said you lose sanity from picking/destroying any plants so gl making a berry farm or harvesting essential resources without going insane all the time and what if players just grief you by deliberately putting plants near you then pull them out or if they need wood (Maxwell, Woodie and willow = rip). Sure he gains sanity from planting plants but you don't always have seeds on you 24/7

His armor has 65% protection which is 5% more than regular grass armor + the splash affect might harm other players too

In spring he begins to bloom, rapidly decreasing your hunger and attracts bees (which attack) with no real benefits besides speed which is pointless

Still loses sanity from rain and has no buffs from it regardless of the fact that hes a plant

He also takes 25% more damage and burns longer so no killing DragonFly 4 u and the salamanders on lunar island aswell!

So basically another challenge character, great to have a wes reskin

Edit: Since hes a "monster" (like wortox) he'll likely get the aggro of pigs/bunnies too, wow.

Just forget wormwoods, play or main other characters, because those got much deeper meta & bigger hour gameplay potential.

Yes he gets DST rework, but still stays redundant, cause he got core design issues you can't rework at all. His ugly quote fonts won't change inches.

New crafting menue:

#1 His most endgame & glaring power is to mass produce living logs, but the problem with that is logs are boring content from 2013. You could have farmed those for your endgame worlds already back then. And having endless dark swords gets boring anyway. This is why people prefer to find thulecite clubs, funny for kiting or cutlass supreme, cause u can fish them & have some SW fun.

Just look at the lazy template for wormwoods! They basically took the failed concept of winnie & made it even worse & gimmicky.
#2 The healing salve is complete broken & useless, because it has too long wind up animation -> so wormwoods is a useless raid boss hunter.
#3 His bramble armor is just a worse & gimmicky version of cactus or obsidian armors.
#4 His bramble traps are just more gimmicky & redundant versions of tooth traps or maxwell traps.
What is left now, since his full craft menue is redundant, not original & bland?
Correct a worse challenge character than wes or maxwell. Oh my gawd wormwoods gets insane when he sees trees burning or chopped down?

His personality:
Do i need to continue towards his quotes & personality? His quotes in ugly random cartoon fonts, is neither funny nor creative. The quotes themselves are not punny or witty compared to say wilsons crude humors.

His gimmick grow buff:
Oh reeeallly he can grow in lush & humid seasons? So he gets a speedbuff then in return burns as much food & ressources as if it were a wolfgang on steroids? But doesn't get any damage multiplyer in return? = gimmicky failed perk

His farmer ability:
So now there is a character, who can plant seeds everywhere they like? Sounds quite OP on paper right? Finally wicker is not queen of farmers, but wormwood right? Wrong! The seeds need literally ages to grow. Start of hamlet it is not even raining enough & often for the seeds to grow. All the manure & rot you need instead to craft silly healing salve for wormwood bad fighting perks. Most funny anecdote, even if you managed to grow awesauce dragonfruits or pomegranades. Those are utterly useless for wormwoods, since he gets 0 health from food.
Let's recap: Wormwoods can farm seeds in a SINGLEPLAYER game & farm faster dragonpies, even though eating food with him literally sucks?
Do you seem some logical fallacies in that design alone?!

It is really a waste of time to write wall of text essay about wormwoods, why he sucks, when he obviously has like millions of glaring problems. Literally everywhere in every departement.

Bottom line: They maybe tried to make a "nature" friendly craft/ challenge character in the veins of maxwell. Both share magic tap & crafting abilities. But ultimatelly even maxwell is a much more fun & engaging character than wormwoods. Maxwell is relevant to lore, is the villain, and can make neat magic & nightmare fuel tricks. Wormwoods looks just like a cheaply made steam workshop custom character with low thought behind it.

Those points are still valid in 2020 and probably onward in 2021.
The promised reworks are really slow and i doubt Wormwood will get ANY rework ever.

All payed DLC chars so far had no reworks and no confirmation whatsoever. Klei seem already overstressed / crunch time with reworking classic characters like Maxwell or Wigfrid ...

It is already hard to predict / get a Maxwell , webber, Wigfrid rework :/

Only thing i can agree on Wormwood is that some of his skins are neat and the blooming wormwood looks cute. But do you really want to play a character, which only looks cool 25% of playing time? Since it is spring only restricted? I still think he is wasted spools / $$ ...

At least with Wurt you can craft an expensive albeit still bit helpful merm king & raid giants as usual. So now with raiding giants you got more diversity besides wolfang or wigfrid, whom can get boring fast. Now with reworks we at least gotten wurt or funny winona catapult farms xD

@JPM Guides on Wormwood might reduce the pain of playing him, but won't change his core design issues sadly :/
For example, if people love to transform in other things (like Wormwood blooming) said players will have much more fun with rework Woodie or even Wilba. At least Wilba is cute & menacing xD

If neither are available, be sure to use spider glands or Honey Poultices. If you are talking about hunger, be sure to stockpile for spring and grow tons of crops due to increased hunger drain, or attempt to get a belt of hunger to keep it up.
