Build the Celestial Portal.

Go into the Mosaic Biome after a meteor shower, and look for a Suspicious Moon Rock Boulder, mine it down and you'll receive the Celestial Orb, it'll be a portable crafting station that lets you craft two items.

"Portal Paraphernelia"

Give it to the Florid Postern (AKA Spawn Portal), and you'll need to repair it with 20 Moonrocks and a Purple Moonlens

"Moon Rock Idol"

Give it to the Celestial Portal after it's been repaired, and you'll be able to change your character.
