First time Klaus solo fight tips
Alright, so I could use some tips for fighting Klaus, as its my first time doing the battle

I'm playing wormwood, so I can't rely on conventional healing food

I know the basics of the fight, but is there a particular pattern I should be aware of?

What more gear do I need? I already prepared 4 football helmets, a hambat and 10 healing salves.

Any general tips?

4 helmets and 10 medical ointments are clearly not enough, especially for Wormwood, especially for the first time. Use the road and fanged traps (only against Klaus and Krampus), and ranged weapons (especially against the second phase of the boss). The boss has 10,000 hp and 5,000 after the resurrection (he is treated when he stands by the bag), you need to be able to dodge his attacks and take off and put on clothes in time. It will be very useful to have a thermo-stone. Some players block deer with fossil bones, but this is more like using a bug.

I was planning on using the road and a walking cane.

What do you mean by fanged traps? Which ranged weapons should I use?

How many helmets and healing items should I have then?

I'd be kiting, not tanking btw

Tooth Trap i mean.
Any ranged weapon will help save your health, especially Blow Darts and Fire Staff.
Playing for Wigfrid I take a full stack of medicinal ointments (40 pieces), by the end of the battle there remain 10-15 (I am not very good at dodging). Helmets occupy the remaining inventory.

Wormwood is the worst character to play as if you can't kite, since healing him is much trickier than conventional characters this is not helped by the fact that in some cases it's impossible and unfair to kite Klaus. If this is your first fight, you will need fresh hambat (made on the spot), around 5 log suits, and 5 football helmets. For healing don't use healing salve, might as well use the spider gland, your best bet would be honey poultice instead, it's relatively easy to farm and heals 30 instead of 20.

I've just killed Klaus as Wormwood on the first winter, it was not easy and I killed Klaus a few times and I'm fairly good at kiting him. I used 3 helmets and a log suit, you might wanna take a bit more, or a yellow amulet instead of the log suit, for the extra speed, it's really easy to kite Klaus with that. A walking cane is mandatory for this fight, don't even bother fighting without it. Healing salve and honey poultice is great for this fight, I suggest you to grab some. Compost wrap is okay, too, but only as a backup, because the animation takes too long, but you will have a few moments to use that as well, or you can just run away to heal, Klaus won't despawn. (But he will heal himself as well.) I also had an ice staff for this fight, to freeze the red deer, but it's not necessary, if you run away, you won't catch on fire immediately, ( I just thought Wormwood will catch on fire instantly, because he is vulnerable to fire.) I usually also take the panflute, and use it when the Krampi are coming. The fight has 3 stages, for the last one, I suggest you to use a Dark Sword instead of a hambat.
I might use a mod to try fighting him on a different world, and once I've done that and get an idea on how to defeat him, I'll go onto my actual server and give it a shot.

I was using WX with 2 speed circuits and a walking cane and still couldnt dodge the ice or fire abilities. Maybe he has some prediction coding so he knows where you'll be if you keep going the same direction?

If you move in any direction you will dodge the attack.

if you have a single thermal stone and no warm clothes on, you will basically not suffer from overheating or freezing unless you're directly inside of the attacks
