"...the player can use exactly 4 Logs instead, which will drain Tentacle's heath low enough to be killed with a single hit using Spear. This method of hunting is easiest with Willow due to her fire affinity. This does not, however, work in DST, where the tentacle takes no damage from the fire."
Perhaps you could use spiders or hounds to deal with them if you don't like the manual method.
Yep, I added the part you put in bold :P
So (sigh) back to hard work.
Good idea in general, but I have to wait for this monsters to spawn (or maybe I didn't find them. It's day 10 and most of the world is still unexplored).
Hambat - no pigs found yet.
Tentacle spike - you put us right into chicken'n'egg conundrum...
No treeguards.... excluded since I play Woodie.
Best is really to just avoid them if you cant beat them
This is the best advice :)
I would add that- if you are not expirence player get science machine, log suit, spear. Kill 3-4 tentacles and there you have it your first tentacle spike to kill more tentacles.
If you die 'repeat', over and over again.
