Glommer
I finally found a Glommer statue and I was soooo excited. The full mon came and after a hound attack I went to the statue and grabbed the flower and I had my own little Glommer pet. He was my pet for 2 days while I worked on things in my camp.. then suddenly as it turned dusk.. 1 random single hound showed up and attacked Glommer. I ran to my beefalo trying to save him.. but the hound killed him before the beefalo got the hound.. I'm so heart broken.. Is this suppose to happen when you get a glommer? I've never ever had 1 single hound show up before, and especially not right after I killed a whole pack 2 days before. :(

It was probably just a stray hound that wasn't killed from the last hound wave, as Glommer doesn't cause hounds to spawn.

Also it's best to keep Glommer a safe distance away from Beefalo.. if he's close to them when mating season starts, they'll squish him.

If it was just a single hound you probably should have killed it yourself.

As somebody above says: lone hounds are easy so you could have killed it yourself, doesn't matter anyway, just get yourself another glommer on the next full moon (if that was the first full moon which always occurs on day 11 then the second full moon occurs on day 31, the next night after meeting Deerclops)

Oh he would have been fine by the beefalo had he survived to get to them :(

I had just gotten back to my camp and was very low health/hunger and needed new weapons and gear and food made. It would have instant killed me if it had hit me first. I thought if I got it to the beefalo they could save us. They however, could only save me.

Even though he was with me only 2 days, I loved him like we had known each other our whole lives. His little bzzzy monstery noises... the way he would just randomly pound the ground 3 times because he was living his best life.. ;_;

I turned the deerclops off as I was reading what he has to offer and decided I really don't need his eyeball for all that frustration. One day I will play with all giants on, But it's only been a few months since I started casually playing by myself to learn things.. and I'm still learning. Like last night I found out that wearing a miner hat + umbrella = no wetness. I was thrilled!

Well, the eyeball is really worth it, sometimes i find myself killing him the next winter just to get those 8 meats he drops. He's really easy once you learn to kite, just craft a hambat, wear some armor and kite him by hitting him 2-3 times then just running away from him. Some characters even have an easier time killing him (namely, Wigfrid/Wolfgang because of their damage bonus+tankiness, Wortox because he's less afraid of monsters (has a sanity drain of only 50% when near them) and because his soul hop ability can be used to kite him by teleporting in front of him right before he's about to hit in order to avoid the damage because of the invincibility frame, and Woodie because of his weremoose form, all you need is to have full health, place a campfire under your feet, go moose and just facetank him, he'll leave you with around 50 health which can be easily restored back to full with 5 healing salves (make sure you have some food on you as well because your hunger drops to 0 when going back to Woodie)
All in all, Deerclops is the easiest boss of the bunch and a easy kill once you know what you have to do, the eyebrella is really worth it because it provides full water resistance, lightning immunity and 240 seconds of summer insulation, that means you can walk around without a cold thermal stone for around 4 minutes before starting to overheat during summer ;)

So far the survivors I've picked to try have been Willow and Winoa( when I first started and it was so hard) then I went to Webber, and he made it a lot easier to figure things out due to his spider fan base. Then I tried Wickerbottom while my boyfriend played with me and he played Woodie but he hadnt read up about Woodie so he kept turning into a goose.. and now i'm testing out Wortok, which is making things even more easy, especially when exploring and instead of having to go a long way around you can just hop a bank with soul hop. I have taken down 3 meese geese and their hell spawns, with the help of mating beefalo. I found a Varg... and I have to turn back a day and not find him because he was too much for me alone and no animals would attack him to help. He just kept spawning fire hounds and I was not ready for him at all as I didn't research him (I expected to get the elephant or the other guy when I went looking.) Later I spawned the gross sheep guy and he kept spitting on me and getting me stuck and almost killing me so I lured him to the volt goats...who gave no Fs lol but they were around a bunch of beehives so I smacked all the beehives and kited and soul hopped around until the killer bees attacked and killed the sheeps and then had the volt goats kill the bees lol

Adding to this tale of woe, I went back the nexr fullmoon to reclaim my Glommer pal. i started to get close and I could hear the hounds getting ready to attack me so as I was in sight of the statue and seen the flower and him waiting for me I went to soul hop to grab the flower and then set it aside before the hounds could take him. Suddenly, 7 werepigs stormed the statue and killed my glommer before I could get to him. My heart broke all over again. See, Glommer's statue is near the pig king and a pig village, and I was under the impression they only became werepigs when fed monster meat during the full moon ( because last time there were no werepigs when I got him.) So the hounds came and the werepigs killed them and then chased me around until daylight. When they turned into pigs I ran them back to their village and proceeded to light every single one of their homes on fire as they watched and ran around in a panic. Tomorrow I will start to pick their porky butts off 1 by one in honor of my fallen comrade..

Well, Willow doesn't have combat perks so you will have to fight the clops normally as her by using a hambat/dark sword or you can lead him to a big Evergreen forest and have him stepping on as many trees as possible, a bunch of treeguards will eventually spawn and they will kill him for you (their chance of spawn is just 1% per tree so expect the treeguard method to be very tedious, but the living logs a treeguard drops when dead are highly useful so it's worth it)
As for Winnona, she's almost as OP as Wickerbottom if you know how to abuse the catapults, just watch this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1PGlIExvXQ
Burning pig houses is a total waste as the pig skins a pig can drop are very useful for crafting recipes, just hammer their houses and build them in a location that is better for you, or you can leave their houses untouched and simply put a bait near the glommer statue (build a square cage by using any kind of fences/walls you want and put a food item/pig skin inside of it, the werepigs will mindlessly run against that wall trying to get the food completely ignoring everything around them, this makes it easy to kill them as well for their drops.

Glom glom has no actual uses though, glommer provides sanity when staying close to him and his goop can be used for healing, nightmare fuel farming, fuel and as a fertilizer
