If you both have good internet connections and it's still super laggy, then there's possibly a connection routing issue going on. Hamachi would solve this.
If that doesn't improve the lag, then chances are your connection isn't all that stable. If you're using Wifi I'd suggest switching to hardwired, as even small hiccups in an otherwise good connection will cause DCs in a game like this. Another possible cause of lag would be living very far away from the host.
Host will likely never experience lag as it is their client that the server is running on.
My friend using hardwired. I'm using Wi-Fi. We have the lag even if we going near the host. Also we lowered all resurses in the our world game.
Now we used Tunngle for connection, not Hamachi, but i think there is no difference. With Tunngle the problem still remains.
By the way, when we connect to a random server in the server list, then everything is fine with the my connection
Nope, we already turned off the caves and our only mod, but it still lags.

You Need Stable Internet to Host Game, i have this Kinda Issue at my Wifi that i Cant Host Game Due not Stable Net and Many people use it at my Family but i can Play as Client Nicely at Nearby Dedicated Server with Ocassional Good to OK Ping and Bad if one of my Family Download thing at Net
