Game crashes to a black screen on startup (Mac)
I've been trying to Google a solution to this but nothing seems to work. I downloaded the games yesterday and was playing fine for hours. Today when I try to open the game it crashes instantly to a black screen. I have no mods downloaded and I have verified game files from steam, reinstalled three times and still experience the issue on every startup of the game. No music plays, no nothing. Only thing that gets me out of the black screen is forcibly quitting the game. I am playing on last year's Macbook Pro and setup of the laptop should not be a problem. Any suggestions?

Most of the ppl here are playing on Windows and Linux maybe. Sooo constructive advice can be a problem.

Constructive advice usually becomes problematic in any scenario where people concentrate on each other's differencies instead of problem solving. "You play on the wrong platform", "You are a girl-gamer so you must be doing it wrong","Your playstyle is stupid", it's all the same sort nonsense to me. It only really irks me when it starts pouring in in such quantities that any proper comments get drowned out. The joys of becoming older are abundant, and not caring what others think is one of my favourite ones. :)

Try to re-install, and verify again. Also try rebooting your Mac.

I paid myself sore to be able to edit movies on this thing, I expect it to run games as well. Especially since Civ V works brilliantly, so why shouldn't DST. Not to mention I look way more fashionable and metrosexual when I sip on my caramel machiato made with soymilk in one of the juppie establishments I frequent so I can twidle my mustache and polish my monocle while pretending to be busy while I'm really watching Vampire Diaries on Netflix. PC just lacks that sort of 'oomph' in that situation, you know?

Sorry I failed to reply to this earlier, I tried this marching order as well to no avail.

Idk if you still have this problem. But i found an answer to the problem. Go to Finder, Documents, Klei, And place the DoNotStarveTogether file somewhere else on your computer (like the desktop). After that start Don't Starve Together (it should be in windowed mode) and close the game. Place the DoNotStarveTogether folder back into the Klei folder. However, this will mess up your user settings so you might want to set them up again. Hope this helps.
