How do I build a wall all the way to the water?

Cant get my base all the way blocked off so things cant run in. What do I do?

Mh, try if something can still get through; if it can, either move your base or try planting a tree for example or building something small there, like a crockpot or a fridge; maybe that will fit the space.

it's always been that way, you cannot use water / edges of map to block things off.

fences might work a little better though

i've been trying for a while to work around the problem, but your best bet is to not build near the water as all, as since you cannot build up to the edge hounds and the like can more easily get through your defenses.

What exactly are you trying to keep out? Walls aren't an effective defense against hounds, and even less so giants. Meanwhile, you've hemmed your base into too small a space and have no room for expansion. Plus as soon as winter arrives the pengulls will smash your walls.

The main thing I use walls for is tumbleweed containment, and those little gaps at the edge aren't big enough to let them through.

walls period are useless, unless you're into making giant farms like bunnymen farms or whatever, all of which is lame.

until you learn to kite the hounds, peel them off on other mobs like beefalo. once you get enough teeth you can make fields of tooth traps if you wish

Hounds for the first year are pretty easy. Just keep a log suit handy and smash em in teh face. Later it gets pretty crazy and you need to kite em into some beefalo or some angry bee nests.

Disagree, walls are useful if you want grass to last a long long time (i'd say >300 days), by enclosing them you can prevent the grass geckos to run away after they spawn from the grass tufts, making it difficult over time to gather grass.
