Is using 2 armours better than 1?
So despite I'm semi skilled in playing DST (especially well from the original Don't Starve), so perhaps I could be called a veteran, what I want to know is if using two armours is better than one? Or is it slightly worse because you're using up a lot of armour?

I ask this question because last time I attempted to fight Klaus with a couple of Log Suits and Football helmets, wearing them both as I fight him. It didn't go so well once he got to the 2nd phase. Thus running out of armour, so any advice when it comes to Armour specifically?
Better to wear 2 Peices or just 1 and save armour?

I was playing a 1/2 upgraded WX-78 with 200 HP and what not.

EDIT:

Thanks for the replies guys, your advice helps. c:

^ it would have made more sense to post a link to 'kiting'.

I honestly don't understand your question; using two armours decreases the damage you take vs wearing only one. Unless you have an overly abundant supply of healing items and can't make the armor, there's no reason not to.

If you find yourself running out of armor, bring more. But it doesn't make you invincible, strategy is what wins battles in DS.

wearing 2 armors doesnt really decrease dmg taken to yourself but to the armors instead

when you wear 2 armors the dmg taken is divided between the 2 so they last longer than using one but you should kite too, unless you wanna bring A LOT of armor

Oh I should mention yes I have done Kiting, I don't always tank when its not necessary.
I kite enemies pretty well, its just the armour part because my armours soon depleted.

My question mainly is, more or less; When fighting Bosses, better to wear 2 peices of armour or just 1 and save the other once the first armour is dead? (While kiting, not tanking)

EDIT:
Noticed that DST Armour is only absorbed by the highest % Resistance. So I suppose its rather better to just wear 1 armour at a time when fighting enemies/bosses?

Wearing one in both slots would split the damage between the armor's health based on damage reduction. Essentially wearing a marble suit and a football helmet simultaneously would be as effective as wearing them one after the other as it'd take the same amount of time and damage to break both. Just wear whatever is easiest to mass produce.

well just use them together unless you are in caves
edit after 1 minute:
but getting pig skins can be a problem so if you are playing as wx just make tons of wooden armor
this is easier to make wood armor than helmet and it blocks the same damage
can someone tell if armor and helmet blocks the same?
shouldn't be very big problem if you kite with 0 lags

Just putting this old armor guide here for any new players that might stumble to this thread. Using 1 armor one by one instead of 2 may be better in DST than in DS.

It depend, as general rule it's great for increasing the lifespand of rarer armors like thulecite.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
