Why Shipwrecked content will NOT come to Don't Starve Together.
Hello,I wanted to say something. I hear A LOT of people complaining about Shipwrecked DLC content not available in multiplayer. AND,I just figured out, that Shipwrecked will NOT come for Don't Starve Together.
AND,I have a few reasons, why Klei will not make Shipwrecked for don't starve together, and I will write them here:

First: It will be too much effort for Klei to move ALL the content form Shipwrecked (I mean here mostly sailing mechanics) to the multiplayer.

Second: People are asking for it TOO much. And well, you ALL know (I hope),that when someone hears the same people talking a lot about same topic ALL THE TIME,this person stops caring at all about what the people say about this topic.

Third (AND THE MOST IMPORTANT):
This COMPLETELY doesn't fit to the Story from the original game.
It has COMPLETELY separeted story, and NOTHING to do with the original story from Don't Starve Together. So,they would have to make a completely separated third-rate SPIN-OFF game, which would have ENTIRELY NEW story, and well, you know, that's the main reason, explained by these two smaller arguments:
- Klei is not doing such things.
- They don't have time and energy for that. They are doing another great things for you, like the amazing event series for Don't Starve Together, like The Forge, and you should understand it.
(I think that you should remember deeply about that).

So,I think, that you should accept the fact, that Shipwrecked may not come to DST. It's just not Klei's style.

Not to mention balance reasons. It'd be hard to find middle ground between the starting island being easily raided or being a free resource farm if things comeback too quickly. Plus people already have trouble running a second server for caves, I highly doubt they could handle a potential third server for SW.

Plus there might need to a be a 4th server for the volcano albeit a much less demanding one.

I heard that SW won't come there because they don't want to split multiplayer community :D (some have dlc and some not etc)

Also giving DLC for free (then not splitted) to everyone would kill the reasons to play singleplayer.

@OP neat speculation but ultimatelly you missed the biggest argument right there:

Shipwrecked was outsourced and made by a third party company, thus they won't port it or it will get very expensive.
This could cause possible copyright problems or such or simply missing manpower.

Nevertheless the Capybara games company did put great work in this "spin off". SW is a fun game in it's own right and doesn't need any alteration.

Also got the fact that Klei co developed shipwrecked with another company so that could cause legal issues because they don't own all of it.

another reason would be because they want to have DS to have its own things otherwise their playerbase will decrease in favor of DST, DST already have its own things like more bosses and crafteables while DS has shipwrecked and adventure mode

I like it when some people just repeat previous answers because they did read only OP and not the other posts :D

As I see it, I don't think "story" should ever get in the way of an entirely new game mode, as it would be throwing away a perfectly good opportunity to present a new style of play for everybody in the name of lore. After all, Shipwrecked was in the original Don't Starve, so it's not entirely impossible for the gang to return there by some weird set of circumstances.

It is still understandable that there are other reasons for the lack of SW, clearly, but the prospect of a story in a multiplayer-centered game shouldn't be one of them. Keep in mind that this is the game where two Wilsons can coexist together, and there are no questions asked about it. Does gameplay have to suffer for the sake of canon?

Sorry mate only skimmed I don't got time to read your nice paragraphed response. Funny enough I did look to see if anyone said what I wanted to say but I guess my skimming didn't see you. :dssmallbird:
