How on earth do you attack properly?
I feel stupid for asking but is there no dedicated attack key or something? I can't even kill a group of spiders and the combat feels kinda underwhelming but perhaps I'm just doing it wrong.

Use traps against spiders and frogs

Hold down F to attack hostile things. If there are a lot of targets I recommend clicking on the one you want to attack then holding F to continue attacking. You can also use ctr+F to attack many neutral things like butterflies.

You can bind a force attack key to attack anything that's near you, I don't think it even matters what that creature is (I have it bound to space), and ingame, the main mode of attacking is kiting. I don't know if you knew that or not. But when it comes to groups of monsters, try syncing up their attacks so that you can slap 'em with ease. Or you can just make a log suit and some football helmets and tank everything, you'll just need a lot of healing items just to be safe.

Thanks, I'll try that.

I did try to kite the spiders a little but what happens is I bait their attacks and when I close in for the kill it gets super messy and I just panic-click LMB and try to attack one of them. I think I'll use some protection next time.

A dedicated attack key is force attack, it will make your character attack stuff near you (including walls so becareful!).

I've long changed my keys to suit my own tastes, so I can't tell you exactly which key. Just look at your bindings.
KaribuCountry Oct 25, 2017 @ 3:09pm
Actually...... the attack key is when u put ur mouse over sometrhing and press crt or u press f if ur near somethin :steamhappy:
Nous Dawnpaw Oct 25, 2017 @ 5:04pm
F is the attack key. It makes you attack anything that is hostile near you.
CTRL+F makes you attack ANYTHING that can be attacked near you. Using this may get you killed. Alot. Like making you attack birds when you're fighting a Varg.
starshield42 Oct 26, 2017 @ 3:24am
[F]-key (suppose it stands for "Fight") :steamhappy:
chaos_guy Oct 26, 2017 @ 6:04am
i switched my attack key to space so it is easier but your character will try to harvest and pick up items
spiders-wait until only 1 is left and then kill him
tanking-not the best idea against most of the enemies
should be ok with spiders ,dragonflies, cave tentacles, hounds and some other monsters
i am not good at kiting too so i just practice with treeguards and deerclops
wanna learn? i recommend taking wx78 then
Ronin Oct 26, 2017 @ 6:19am
I think it's better to learn to kite with Wigfrid, she can make herself armored hats fairly easily so you can practice. Though Wx78 + upgrades is really good later on.

hes just good

Nothing happens when I press F

F
Or
Ctrl+F

I think you'll attack what's near you, within, idk, 8ft or so?
Otherwise check your control settings.

Using Wendy can help while you get this issue resolved.
