Prevent Multiplayer World Restart Timer
As we all know, once you die or all of your friends turn ghostly, there is an automatic restart for the world.

Problem is, there is probably a Touch Stone that hasn't been activated yet in the world. The game will not allow you to respawn there with a respawn button, and fat chance that you died right next to it. The game doesn't give you enough time to reach it with your ghostly form. Both if you have found or haven't found it.

A good ol solution to a "simple" problem like this is to mod something that resolves this issue, but that should not be the case.

This mechanic should already be implemented into DST, dieing is a very constant problem with Don't Starve. Sure you have meat effigies but why build a meat effigy when you have a perfectly good touch stone to respawn at.


Solution(s):

[1. If there is a Touch Stone left in the world, do not set the automatic restart timer to start ticking down.

2. If a Touch Stone has been discovered, have an automatic respawn, or a respawn button.]

Option 2
[1. Respawn the dead character to the Touch Stone no matter if they found it or not.]

You are writing about Survival mode. Go with Endless and you can have that unlimited time to revive (even at the spawn gate). Alternatively, if playing on dedicated servers, filter them for Endless. Plus there are a lot of (weird) mods through which you can revive let's say from a Fire Pit. One more thing: devs don't read this forum if that's your intention. Not even many modders.

Play on endless mode instead. If you think using the portal is cheating then agree not to use it.

I know about the endless mode already.

I want a legit frightening survival experience of dieing, with the implementation of what I just noted.

I don't like the endless mode. Spawning over and over again isn't my cup of tea. Once your dead, you are dead. But if there is a chance I can come back, and the game doesn't let me do that. Then why on earth is it there in the first place?
