No eyed deers - where to find ?

Where exactly do those spawn? And also can they spawn in old worlds - older than the festive suprise update - ? I kinda found loot stash in a birchwood forest last winter, but now in autumn i checked it out and it despawned and i kinda never saw no eyed deers? Are those super rare or you need to summon them ? pls help D:

one day them spawned om my map but i killed them all i dint know that i have to wait until the horns grow :v

I have only seen them in the birch biome.

Lets say you "transplanted" the no eyed deers to a different biome like desert and left them there what would happen ? Like i put a herd in my desert, but now i cant find them anymore. Do they either run back to their original spawn point? Do they wander randomly ? Or do they despawn ? Im really confused by this help D:

I've heard that they only spawn in autumn and then disappear in winter. But they'll walk around 4ever if they spawn near your base
