If I don't have a thermal stone I use these items:

- Umbrella (better) or whirly fan (not as good)
- Straw hat (other helmets cool you too, like miner's helmet or Wigfried's combat helmet)
Standing close to trees helps, but you don't want to be chained to trees.

If I have a thermal stone that alone usually suffices, but you need nitrite for endothermic fires.

Caves are cooler. If you can manage the sanity drain in them you can just stay in those. I think they don't have any spontaneous combustion either.

Keep moving around. Spontaneous combustion only happens to things on the screen. If you wanna make totally sure nothing around your base goes up in flames move around.

I like using the ice hat and watermelon hat, they make summer go by way easier.
Keep in mind the ice hat can get your hands wet which will decrease your sanity.

Eating ice and watermelons will also decrease your temperature if you need.

Use the summer to explore the caves, maybe even create a summer base there, it's way easier to spend the summer there if you can handle the sanity.

if you are in summer, didn't you already kill the deerclop. just get an eye umbrella thing then. best spring/summer item ever lol

Also you can use chill amulet to freshen yourself. Simply put it on for 5-10 seconds but ofc endothermic fire will work just fine if you have enough nitre.

siesta-lean-to is good as well. it's used like a tent and helps u a lot. just have nitre, grass and gold in ur backpack and build a endothermic fire if needed while traveling.
