Friend can't connect due to "Server Running mods with old version"

One of my friends can join, yet the other one can't. Can someone tell me a fix for this?

So, I think I figured this out.

What you want to do is delete the files in your Cached Mods folder (should be found in the Don't Starve Together folder). I'm not sure if both people need to do it or just one, as we both did it just to be safe.

(Please note, I did uninstall and reinstall my mods before trying this, so it's possible you might have to as well, but I'm guessing it's just the cached mods that are the problem and thus you shouldn't have to uninstall anything. If you do get it working without uninstalling anything, please let future googlers know. Thanks!)

Did that and it turned out one of my mods was erased from steam so my BF could not download it therefore the error.

Well at least this thread managed to fix one persons problems

mine got fixed by manually wiping the mod folder for myself and for my gf, along with cached mod folder, and then uninstalling the game completely, and then we both installed the game on different steam libraries than where they were (for example from D library to E library or C) , and then subscribed to all the mods that i would want to enable, me and her , without the server making her game download the needed mods, so when i launched the server, she could join without a problem

I have the exact same problem, in here, its me that cant join, but my friend can join to my BF server. Here's what i did:
1. I tried delete all my cached folder (cached_mods & cached_mods_manifest is the name of the folders) but it didnt work
2. Then I keep restarting the game and verify game files integrity (all good), didnt work
3. Then my BF make a collection of his mods, so I can subscribe to all the mods, this is the one that worked

Note that: I cant see his collection in his steam profile, without him having to share the link to me

incase anyone still reads this thread enabling autosubscribe to mods in settings also fixes this issue
