a few questions about gears

do clockwork enemies respawn or are there only a limited number of gears in a world?

Are there any other ways to get gears besides killing clockwork enemies?

Is there any other use for gears besides fridges, ice flinger, and wx-78 upgrade?

1. Clockworks do not respawn above ground but respawn in the ruins below ground.
2.There are clockworks underground too. Some other ways to get gears are special chests underground, graves, tumbleweeds and broken clockworks that you can hammer to drop gears.
3.You can also make a insulation pack and a weather pain with gears

1. No, not on the surface anyway. You can regenerate ruins for clockworks to farm there.
2. Tumble weeds have a smalle chance of dropping gears but you'll need to spend some time to find them.
3. Insultation pack, divining rod, but most importantly weather pain.

Also the chance of getting a gear is around 4% or so. It feels like to me

There is chance to get Gears from Tumblers on desert. Small, but it's something + you get tons of grass/twigs/gold items, ;)

if it were 30% you'd be getting gears about every 3 tumble weeds which doesn't happen unless you're a leprechaun or have a mod for tumble weed drop chances.

Gears every 3 tumble weeds. Tomato said you have a 30% chance so you'd get gears 1 out of every 3 tumble weeds you find.

Please please please do not reproduce. We dont need more idiots like you in this world. 30% does not mean that there will be 1 gear in every 3 tumble weeds. It means there will be 3 gears in every 10 tumble weeds. I cant belive I have to explain simple math to somone.
