how to survive wolf/hound attacks?
we've made 4 games four games and in 3 of them we were killed by hound/wolf attacks (the other one we died at winter) anyways anyone have tips on how to survive them? we've made walls (the good wood ones) I was under the impression that nothing (especially not hounds )could get through them so I was pretty suprised when the hounds entered our base and killed all of us. Yeah that happended twice third time when we got the msg the hounds were coming we all evacuated the base and tried to lead the hounds to beefalo so they could kill them for us..yeah that didn't work either so the hounds killed us sooo yeah how to survive hound attacks?

The simplest way to survive is probably just to kill the hounds yourself. It may seem tricky at first, but in between their attacks you can hit them twice and then dodge. Using a spear made at a science machine will help a lot, and if you mess up you can also make a log suit at a science machine for pretty cheap armor. If you want to use the beefalo, you can make a bush hat and use it as a disguise. If you hide before the hounds see you they will go straight to attacking the beefalo. Good luck!

Hounds are your best friends. They drop lost of very useful stuff and they bring it directly to your camp. If you have trouble with hound attacs, because your team sucks at fighting, camp close to the swamp and run around tentacles and spiders. The hounds will get distracted pretty quickly. Once you collected some hound teeth, build lots of tooth traps close to each other. Maybe in the swamp, or somwhere close to the entrance. They work wonders against hounds.

PS: I would not recommend camping close to beefalos.

They don't remain peaceful, especially during spring.

You can easily just go around them ...

We're talking about camping too close not just walking into them. Some might wander near and bash your buildings.

They don't bash your building just cuz they are mad

Basically, when the warning signs of wovles comes in, you need to ran towards a mob. Any mob will do, such as beeflo, spiders, pigmen etc. Pigmen are generally the easiest as they do not like wolves and will attack them as soon as they get close. For the other mobs, you need to run around the other mobs until the wolves get bored of you and start attacking the mob. Beeflo is preferred as they can easily take down the wolves and they do not take the loot afterwards. But the wolves will not get bored of you if they have not noticed the mob so you kinda have to have the mob in between you and the wolves, which the wolves will start attacking the mob in a short time. Just keep running around the mob until then. Hope this helps.

Lol... if you already have issues vs the hounds this game might not be for you...

I'm kidding. Well, only half. You need to practice your kiting vs mobs.
Almost all mobs and bosses can be kited and killed without taking any damage.

How to kite; Run up to the mob until he starts his attack animation (or a split second before it) and run 2~3 steps back. Go up to him and attack him a few times. Repeat.
Many mobs have their own attack pattern. Just practice it and count the times you can attack.

You can also avoid hounds completely by making a bush hat; 12 grass for straw hat then turn that into a bush hat with berry bush + rope + straw hat. When you see the text appearing use your hat near any other mob and wait...

Edit: You can also stunlock mobs including hounds by just running far enough...
Edit2: You can also instakill hounds with darts if you have enough the supplies to do so...
Edit3: You can also kill hounds taking maximum 1 hit each time simply by holding F... Since they have so low health you can easily kill them in 2~4 attacks (depending on weapon).

Anyway.. My point is that hounds should be the least of your worries in this game.
(With the exception of a fire hound running into your camp. LMAO. That ♥♥♥♥ is too funny.)
