PS: I would not recommend camping close to beefalos.
and thanks for the tips
I'm kidding. Well, only half. You need to practice your kiting vs mobs.
Almost all mobs and bosses can be kited and killed without taking any damage.
How to kite; Run up to the mob until he starts his attack animation (or a split second before it) and run 2~3 steps back. Go up to him and attack him a few times. Repeat.
Many mobs have their own attack pattern. Just practice it and count the times you can attack.
You can also avoid hounds completely by making a bush hat; 12 grass for straw hat then turn that into a bush hat with berry bush + rope + straw hat. When you see the text appearing use your hat near any other mob and wait...
Edit: You can also stunlock mobs including hounds by just running far enough...
Edit2: You can also instakill hounds with darts if you have enough the supplies to do so...
Edit3: You can also kill hounds taking maximum 1 hit each time simply by holding F... Since they have so low health you can easily kill them in 2~4 attacks (depending on weapon).
Anyway.. My point is that hounds should be the least of your worries in this game.
(With the exception of a fire hound running into your camp. LMAO. That ♥♥♥♥ is too funny.)
