"Best" mode for solo newbie?
My friends and I tried to co-op through Survival but our interest didn't last more than a few hours. After playing a bit of Rust I got the itch to give Don't Starve Together a try again and is stump on which mode would be the "best".

Being borderline newbie I thought Endless might be more fitting as I need not worry about dying and having no one to resurrect me. Wilderness might be ideal as well but I'm concern with the world not resetting in Endless and Wilderness.

Which mode might be more ideal when soloing given my lack of experience?

Comments and suggestions are appreciated,

Thank you

You can easily solo in survival mode. All you have to do, is to survive, until you can build a life giving amulett. Place it on the ground somewhere in your camp and haunt it as a ghost. Voilà! (Meat effigy works as good as a life giving amulett, if you prefer this method.) And besides that, there are still touch stones to do the job, if you need an earlier resurrection.

I actully like using meat effigys more. Mostly because they are cheaper and can be built easly in the first autoumn. They also teliport you to your base so if you die in suvival mod and your base with the amulet is on the other side of the map (or your in the caves) the chance of the server reseting is minimal. They also reivive you at a higher health then the amulets do I belive

Or ya know, You could carry the amulet with you.

Yeah, meat effigy works fine, but for some characters it's a lot of trouble to get the beard hair. Red hounds come every now and then, so there is no need to search for red gems.

If I carry the amulett with me, it blocks a spot in my inventory and I often can't click it after I died, because all my stuff is just a big messy pile. I prefer to have it close to my fire pit and chests.

Beard hair is easy to get by just going insain and killing bunnys.

Wigfrid can't eat sanity food to get back to normal level. Wigfrid needs something like the scottish walrus hat first. But yes, most characters go insane pretty quickly, but it might be dangerous for a beginner to go down that road, because shadows and hounds at the same time can be a challenge, if you're not good at fighting.

Correct, if you have enough ressources, that's right. So, the conclusion is, suviving "survival mode" is not a problem, if you know how.

Thank you for the responses and suggestions. Are resources kinda easier to obtain in Survival with the world regularly resetting?

Resources are all evenly accesible in all game mods.

There are plenty of ressources. Keep in mind, that this is a multiplayer game and if you play solo, you're living in paradise.

Funny enough I just started a new world and cannot for the life of me find any stones. Maybe I just spawned in a bad spot. The portal was at the tip of some peninsula. I'll just explore further inland till I find an ideal spot to setup camp.

I try to settle somewhere between swamp and desert, because those two biomes are very useful (usually a little bit closer to the swamp, because I love to lure my enemies in there - tentacles do a hell of a job).

And yes, this is a huge paradise, so you might have to explore a lot, until you find everything you need.
