Mods Wont Update, Can't Play With Friends...
Ok, so I'm starting to get REALLY frustrated with this and it's peeving me off. I have one mod that I actually want and two my friend has that just say "workshop#######" on it instead of the actual name of the Mod. I keep trying to update them, even unsubing and resubing but nothing changes, they're still there, the names don't change and it keeps saying that they need updated. Whenever I play with friends, we get to play for a bit, then after a fair few days, their game crashes and then after that we can't play any further onwards. It's really upsetting me, I got this game to enjoy mods and play with friends, I require immedtiate assistance with this...

Fix: Don't use mods.

That's immediate assistance.

If something further is required, potentially check with the mod publishers.

Delete your mods manually in the mods map (Steam/Steamapps/Common/Don'tStarveTogether/Mods) and resubscribe

I got rid of one, another appeared to have updated itself, and the last wont even let me delete it, even running as administrator. The mod is The OP Ninja, workshop-466309118. That I believe was the mod my friend was using last night, but didn't bug my game till much later between him and I.

It's no fun playing with no mods, since I like playing as a few characters not in the game, or with options not available in the standard game, like 45 item slots, stackable, and pack and amulet slots.

As to the "unable to delete even as Admin", I can help with that as I've had the same issue. You can delete the files if you restart your computer in "Safe Mode". Depending on what version of Windows you have I might be able to help with that, but it shouldn't be hard to figure out on your own.

I've just been dealing with this as "necessary" until Klei fixes how their download-to-update system works. (And yes, I consider it their fault, as I've never had issues like this for other games or other games' mods... Although if it truly isn't their fault for it, I guess that just makes me an a-hole, for assuming, doesn't it?)

Ok, so for Windows 10, hold down the Windows key (Next to left alt key) and press R to open "Run". Type "msconfig" without the quotation marks and press "Enter". For the window that pops up, click on the "Boot" Tab (Second Tab) and check the "Safe boot" box under "Boot options". Below that, make sure "Minimal" is marked. Restart the computer to enter "Safe Mode". To exit "Safe Mode", uncheck "Safe boot" and restart the computer again.

WRITE DOWN THIS PROCESS! You will NOT be able to access the internet in Safe Mode! Not to mention other things will be restricted... Good luck to you on fixing your problem!

posting this for anybody looking for answers still: the way i fixed my issue with this was updating my display drivers. not sure how it affects mods, but it seems to. just update them and they might just start working!
