Don't Starve Together

Don't Starve Together

DST mods aren't working, HELP!!!
So I've been playing don't starve for a while now with mods, no issues until now.
A few days ago I started up DST to play with my sister when I noticed a few of my mods weren't there, after some searching around they ARE still there but not working and renamed as "workshop######". I've tried updating them, unsubscribing and resubscribing again, cleaning the mods, I checked my firewall, and also tried to reinstall the game.... but to no avail, and then all the other mods that were once working are now also renamed as "workshop######".
I really love DS and I don't want all my effort in my current worlds to be in vain, help!

In the "mods" section, when I click on the little box to enable the mod called "workshop###' a popup saying:
"Mod Warning
This mod hasn't been tagged as compatible with Don't Starve Together. It may cause issues with you game."

Another pop up when trying to play one of my worlds says:
"WARNING - Mods Out of Date
Some enabled mods are out of date, which could cause some issues. Continue?
*list of mods called workshop######*"
But I can't update them for some reason....

have you tried deleting the mods in the mod folder found here

\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Don't Starve Together\mods

reinstalling the game wont delete the custom content afaik, you could write down the names of mods or just make a backup of the mods folder

I tried that too, I went into the folder and tried deleting them all but a popup saying I "require permission from MSI/user to make changed to this folder"
I did as some google sources told me to: open up the folder's properties > security > system > edit permissions > full control.
but it's already on full control >.<
OH MAN it's frustrating running around in circles :(

this could be an issue, maybe the mods/game arent getting the proper admin authorization,

are there any other user account when you log into your computer? if so you could try login via those and edit. other than that i cant think so any resonable solutions.

edit
just to be sure you followed the steps correctly, if you are the admin then you should be able to go through this without problems

I'm having this exact same issue. I need to delete the mods folders but I get an error message stating I need permission from the user account I'm already logged into. Taking ownership does not fix the issue as I already am the owner. Following the steps in the video does not fix the issue.

I have also been having this problem for a while now. Just did what the video told me and still didn't work. Hopefully, it gets fixed soon. :steamsad:

The permission issue ah yes. Go into safe mode and then delete the mods. It's a Windows 10 issue.
Have fun playing after :)

posting this for anybody looking for answers still: the way i fixed my issue with this was updating my display drivers. not sure how it affects mods, but it seems to. just update them and they might just start working!

check if the problem lies within the mod page and not the game itself?

It sounds like either your workshop mod's files corrupted or mod was deleted
