How to change Graphic settings without launching the game ?
I GPU supported ultraHD resolution, but I have 17" laptop and in fact I can't read or change any setting in game. There is 3840x2160 resolution by default. So, how can I change resolution before launching the game, for exaple with 1920x1080?

Try changing your player file to show full screen = 0
This will change you to windowed mode and hopefully give you enough real estate to change the video settings in game.
You can find the player file here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Repopulation

You need to make your file look exactly like this :

[Graphics]
FullScreen=1
Width=1920
Height=1080

The exact file is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Repopulation\player.ini"

Let us know how that goes :)

Thanks, I tried this early, but in the game I see default resolution without possible to select another.
I see than the list of resolutions is empty in options. Maybe it's a main problem.

Changing the ini didn't seem to work for me.
I lowered my desktop settings to 1920x1080, and that looks like a "fix".

I'm already using 1920x1080 resolution in my system.

1. Yes, you should run the game at the same resolution as your desktop.
2. The config I put above for the player.ini is to have the game execute in windowed mode; don't try to change it in the game configs afterwards.

Assassin, you might want to close the game off completely, delete the cache folder (remove completely "C:\Users\[WindowsUsername]\AppData\Local\HeroEngine\") and then relaunch it. You might also want to "reinstall cache" from the launcher (warning : large download).

Finally, make sure the ini is still set the way it is above after all that. There shouldn't be any extra blank line, nor any extra space, or anything. Just and only exactly :

[Graphics]
FullScreen=1
Width=1920
Height=1080

If it's still acting up, please describe / post screenshots and will try to help you further :)

The problem was resolved in discord chat. It was dpi settings not 100% in my system.
Thanks a lot!

Oh I see! I thought it was strictly the game resolution you wanted changed before launching the game. Glad to hear it got fixed :)

We have a discussion about it in this thread : https://therepopulation.com/forums/support/technical-issues/windows-crushed-together-12870 if you have a chance to drop in and checkout / let us know what worked for you.

I checked it for my interest, but I don't see any changes with or without this option in parameters of the app. Win 10.

Intriguing! What were you using to start the game exactly? And what was your dpi setting at in display settings, meanwhile?

Just curious to know if that's something that could be related to display drivers or configuration.

At any rate, it got fixed when you brought the dpi down to 100% right?

I tried start game with the launcher and without it. There are no differents I think. I used 125% dpi because it is look bad on 17" screen with full HD or ultra HD screen resolution. By default in my OS was 250% dpi with ultra HD resolution :)
I didn't touch drivers for display or GPU.
And yes, this problem was resolved by setting dpi to 100%.

Ok, gotcha. But when you were at, say, 250%, relog into windows, and then you would uncheck that box on the player_client.exe AND then launch the game from it, it would still have overlapping text?

I got exception in app with this unchecked option. But at next start all good and I didn't see nothing other. In fact when I got error the option was dropped to default(marked). I tried more one step, but it was similar as first step.
