Lost Chat Window

In most MMOs, I make sure that my chat window never fades so that I can read the text with a black(ish) background. I thought that I increased the opacity to 100% in the game, but when I hit apply, I lost my chat window. I have no idea how to re-obtain it, so any help would be nice.

Oddly enough, I later hit Shift + = to use a bandage on a injured NPC (to no avail) and my second action bar disappeared. I went back into the interface options and turned my second action bar back on. I moved the bandage to #7 on the first action bar and hit the key. I suddenly got my chat window back...

I have the same issue. Hitting ctrl+g got my chat window back, but only to have "default" as only channel. Adding a new tab via main menu > chat and adding the desired channels gives me another odd behaviour. I only get one line of chat at a time. No history at all even if the setting for it is 100 as default.

I re-installed the game in hope to wipe all settings but it didnt work.


Any thoughts?

What server are you on? The chat stuff is account wide and stored on the server so clearing local data will unfortunately not fix the issue. There is a flush command, but it isn't player enabled. I will add it to a command that is, but need to know which server.

Fyi. It WAS the Chat History setting. I turned it upp to a huge number and I could see all incoming chat lines in the window. When I turned it down to 100 again, it still worked. As it was the change itself that made it work.
