Costumes and achievements bugged across saves
I noticed something funny when I bought the maid costume for about 90k money. Parin changes into it immediately but after you save and quit the game, when you continue, Parin reverts back to her normal clothes, but then you get the option to buy it again. At first, I thought, huh, maybe you need to visit the wardrobe to store it first? But that's not the case.

What's more, I gave Hyperbolic all 30 gold medals, which should unlock the princess dress, and I got the good ending for normal mode, which unlocks pyjamas. Hyperbolic gave Parin the silver award for the medals. Loading the clear save gives me the option of pyjamas but not princess dress. The silver award carried over correctly.

The funny thing is, leaving to title and then loading a pre-clear save gives me the option of picking pyjamas(!), which I shouldn't have gotten. Quitting and loading the clear save again removes all unlocked costumes. The Steam achievements for clearing normal mode and with S ranking did not unlock.

Also, it seems like if you quit the game after clearing a difficulty (say Normal), you cannot start a higher difficulty (say Hard mode).

This really sounds like a save bug to me. Is anyone else having the same problems?

I had that same issue. I beat the game unlocking the costume on normal, but when I quit and started the clear save file nothing carried over.

I reloaded a New Game + save only to find Parin back in her default outfit and her pajamas no longer available in the wardrobe either.

There was one level that I hadn't completed in my first playthrough though. That one to the far north.

So I'm not the only one with the problem, unfortunately.

Just to be safe, if you can, keep a save before you fight the final boss, so you can unlock it again if and after they patch this, without having to go through the whole difficulty level again.

Yeah, just beat the game on normal yesterday and now all my cross save stuff is gone, costumes, Popon, etc. and I was also stupid enough to save the clear game data over my normal save slot.

Seems Mastiff's fix for everything being unlocked initially was to auto-lock everything on startup. So now everything is permanently locked until they fix it.

Same issue, I bought the Maid outfit prior to recent updates (2 or 3 days ago), but reloading my save has removed it.

I have all these same problems. Sucks that I'm going to have to go back and do a bunch of crap again.

Yeah. I hope the patch arrives sooner rather than later because I think this game expects multiple playthroughs and with this bug your progress hits a brick wall.

If you have a save before you hand in the last batch of gold medals, or before you fight the final boss, do hang onto them.

The pockles for the maid outfit is a pain but it's nothing compared to playing through the whole mode again. Btw, you can reduce it to 89,999 or ~50,000 by wearing the Crown (lv2, lv5) before you buy it from the machine. You get the Crown by climbing to the top of the jungle gym in Pimento Park.

Are you suppose to get the princess dress upon starting NG+? I tested out giving the 30 medals to Hyperbolic on a second save, and only got the Silver Award.

@pokedude900 Yeah I didn't get the princess dress either. If you give Parin the dress with the matching headdress it's supposed to change her voice / lines, and most of them require you turning in 30 medals.

I think I've made a discovery concerning certain outfits. Based on an old GameFAQs guide, it seems that all the ones involving giving Hyperbolic 30 medals do not exist in the original PC version. Since this is an HD remake of that one, they're not available through any means.

That would also explain why they weren't unlocked along with the other outfits when the game was first put on Steam.

From their official site at least, [http://gurumin.rocks/] it seems like the costumes which need medal unlocks are available. There are logos for both PSP and Steam, however, so not sure which version it applies to. Hopefully both.

Ah, so I'm not the only one with a problem like this. I was trying to get the image for changing clothes with Puchi in the house, only to not be able to change to the pajamas, and then realizing that the item list was gone from the startup menu too and I wasn't able to skip cutscenes anymore. I still have Popon in the village and it retained levels for my equipment, but it's quite annoying to have lost some of my second playthrough bonuses...

I'm gonna have to say that this is definitely a straight HD upgrade of the old PC version rather than a port of the PSP version. The surprisingly well-integrated mouse and keyboard option, the typing-based puzzles in 2 of the stages, the 99999 max money, the lack of a Japanese voice track (it's unlockable in the PSP version), and the apparent lack of medal costumes all point to that being the case.
