Easy way to grind money?

I've got the Monkey Hat, i've bought out pretty much everything, and now i'm trying to get the extra content - like the damnable outfit at the Shadow Grotto. Whether it's lying or they rebalanced it for this re-release, the damn thing is saying 99999 (or 89999 with the Crown), when at best i've broken 25k with a few major spenditures and setbacks here and there after 8 hours of play.

Is there an easy place or method to gaining a crapton of money for situations just like this?

Play Amethyst Road, or in other words the second space level that is reversed, that has a good amount of money you can get.

It's how I upgraded my hats to beat the secret boss on happy mode and hard mode

Even I'm surprised I did it, after beating Happy Mode I'm never doing Crazy mode, no way.

Also, depending if your playing the other difficulties, you'll be as skilled as me.

I'm just in Normal mode so far on my first playthrough. Not sure if I could tolerate the higher difficulties since the difficulty already spikes like crazy towards the end.
