It is possible to use the mouse to aim by clicking on the target that you want to hit. Little adjustments can then be made using the S and D keys. But it is not like in a First Person Shooter where you point the mouse without clicking to aim the gun.

Why the hell would you disallow mouse aiming?

Because the game was made for 3ds and the whole point is trying to line up your shot through visual and skill, 100% precise aim is what the snipers are for :foxxing:

Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

Futhermore, are you suggesting you can't get precise aiming with a stylus?

Did you miss my statement of the whole point being to aim by moving the gun up and down on the 2d plane. Have you seen gameplay or even played either 2 games? Being able to just mouse the exact spot you want to hit would make the game piss easy

On top of this, since when have accurate ports changed up the entire control/gameplay schema?

Kind of the point.
That's stupid because the mouse could still be used to aim without clicking while retaining the shifting aim. It doesn't change the difficulty while still improving QoL. The reviewer clearly meant that by "mouse aim". Played this game on the 3DS and Wii U back in the day, can't believe it's already ten years old.
