i dont think you cant do anything.
if the game had steam cloud the files would have been uploaded there and donwloaded to ur machine again.
but i dont think the game has that feature.
the mistake is that you should have backed up the game in ur previous operating system and putted it in a flash or an external hdd and instead of downloading it again used the backup file.
sry but i think there is no possible solution.... :\
damn... thanks anyways. I posted this thought so that Robtop would fix this for later , for example make a auto save to steam cloud for progress.
I can try to setup something that uses the cloud save for Steam. The reason the account backup/load system works the way it does is to enable cross-platform saving. So you can for instance move your save file from Android/iOS/PC/Mac etc.
