THANK YOU SOOO MUCH I TRIED ALMOST EVERYTHING ON THIS DISCUSSION BUT THIS ACTUALLY WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have the same problem, I have no files in this folder -
C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\GeometryDash.
When I start up it says Im playing for 2 seconds but no screen flashes up and then the game stops playing, No crash reports or anything..
Help? (none of the solutions on this thread have worked)
Hi... ♥♥♥♥♥,
Have you previously run the game successfully? You should have at least 4 .dat files in that folder. (CCGameManager.dat , CCLocalLevels.dat being 2) as well as any downloaded songs.
Have you attempted a full re-install of the game?
I also have no files there, and I have not run the game successfully after doing a clean install of my PC at one point.
CPU: amd a10-7400p 2.5@3.4Ghz;
RAM: 8Gb DDR3L;
graphics card: amd r5-M230 + R6 Dual Graphics;
Windows 10 X64;
My laptop: ASUS X550ZE
@whiteiden97 Geometry Dash definitely works on 8.1 and 10 (i've played it on them) and i assume windows 8 as well.
Also, your specs don't appear to be an issue. Did you try the backwards compatibility post i previously possted? :
yes, I tried to verify game cache too, to dragNdrop these files: msvcp120.dll and msvcr120.dll and of course the Xinput files, admin, I tried to install windows 7 on a virtual box, but my graphic card was unable to update, so the libcocos2 error flash to my screen. after that, I tried to install windows 7 on another partition, but nothing because of windows 10 dislike dvd boot... I tried to uninstall GD, steam, repair "microsoft visual c++ 2010" and "microsoft visual c++ 2013", always nothing. BUT, if I uninstall the X86 files, I get this error: 0xc000007b. do you know how to fix that? I'd be so happy!
thanks for trying to help!
for uninstall/reinstall:
1. go to C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Local\
2. copy the folder named "Geometry Dash" and paste it to your Desktop
3. go to your steam games (in the steam application).
4. right click on your GD game (in the left list)
5. click on "uninstall local content"
6. after the desinstallation, just install it!
7. go to C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Local\
8. cut and paste here the "GeometryDash" folder you previously pasted on your desktop
9. run the game and enjoy! :)
p.s.
if you frequently saved your game data before, skip the number 1-2-7-8.
I'm not sure why you are doing all of these things to fix the game.
Firstly, have you re-installed the game through either control panel or steam?
Which problem are you having exactly? Does the game load or not?
Also, when opening the game, do you use the file in windows explorer, or access it through steam?
If steam isn't opening, re-install steam through the control panel on windows. That may fix it.
Did you look in %appdata% to find the files?
for the reinstallation, I tried to uninstall it from steam and from the control panel.
My problem is that I just cant launch the game. The error code is : 0xc000007b. I tried a lot of stuff to solve it, searched on the web, and i just cannot solve the problem. no, the game does not load.
to open the game, I tried to start it in steam and in the file explorer. always the same error.
:/
