Hi, I have a problem. Custom songs doesn't play in the level. I already downloaded it. it says "download complete!".

I've looked in the game files and no custom song was found...

Hi,

A new update was just released that may fix this problem. From the main menu click on the options icon on the bottom and go to "options". Then toggle on the option "Change custom songs location".

Let me know how it goes!

Hey Rob, I've tried using the "Change Custom Songs Location" in the options but still my custom songs are not playing at all. Got any reason why it wouldn't work? (On Windows 10 btw)

just in case people are still struggling with this, i have a solution but its sort of lengthy and annoying. basically you're files are corrupt which is annoying but it happens.

1. find the song you want to be played in your level on the internet somewhere and download it (i.e I used a youtube to mp3 converter)
2. find your song ID (i.e 656875) and rename the file you just downloaded to whatever that number is
3. open %appdata% and go to Local, GeometryDash
4. delete the file in that folder that has the ID of your song, and replace it with the renamed one that you downloaded
5. go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Geometry Dash\Resources
6. do the same as step 4

its a lengthy solution but it worked for me and i hope it did for you too. you're basically just manually replacing your corrupted files with non corrupted files. hopefully this bug will be fixed soon

I'm having trouble reproducing the issue and I was wondering if someone with the problem could test something for me.

- Find the folder where the songs are saved: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\GeometryDash

- Delete all mp3 files in that folder

- Open the game and download a custom song, try to play the level and make sure the song does not play.

- Close the game and go to the Steam content folder. (Open Steam, right click on Geometry Dash / Properties / Local Files / Browse Local Files".

- Enter the "Resources" folder and copy the file "DryOut.mp3".

- Replace the mp3 file in the custom songs folder with this new mp3 file, and rename "DryOut.mp3" to whatever the name of the custom song is ("123456.mp3 etc)

- Start the game and try to play the level with the custom song. Does DryOut start playing?

(What I'm testing is to see if something is wrong with the mp3 file or if its related to the file directory)

Thanks!

Yeh, I replaced it with the shop song and it played in place of the song's ID. I have re-downloaded this game and verified the intergity of the game files countless times. Any Help?
