it worked for me on amd processor and graphics (ryzen 7 5700X and radeon rx 6500XT), thank you very much
another amd specific solution is going to amd software > gaming > geometry dash (I wouldn't recommend this in global settings) and under graphics select wait for vertical refresh always on, the only setback is capped framerate at vsync
FPS bypass the game, its the only way.
Believe me or not, Vsync in GD makes the game perform worse, you would think "yeah 144fps equal with 144hz is fine". No, it just doesn't work like that, I have been getting eyes tiring with this screen tearing since forever, even go on google for several hours, found out a solution by using Borderless Windowed (using Borderless Gaming), but it just become worse and worse with input lag and tearing more noticable
until I had enough, bought mhv7 and just let the game run at 360fps
Surprisingly, it fixed the tearing issue, somehow, magically.
So I conclude my knowledge on this is that as long the FPS is at least double the amount of your refresh rate then it is likely less tearing, or never.
ok this is like a really old post but here are 2 fixes that improved fps heavily for me
1. Right-Click geometry dash in steam, Click properties and in 'Launch options' type in 'fullscreen'
2. Turn off v-sync (and enable smooth fix if u want to) and if ur like me and have a 144hz monitor, just turn on a FPS and TPS bypass with some sort of hack
I dont have nvidia tho so i dont know if any of the nvidia fixes work lol
(I see branch creation date, but if it will help someone, I'll just live it here. Especially for 2.2 update)
