"Login failed" when trying to register account

When I input my information to register an account, I get a long wait and then the message "login failed." I've tried different (simpler) passwords just in case there are unspoken restrictions there.

Is this really necessary just to save my game? It's ridiculous. Can I get some help, please?

And 5 years from now, when the servers don't exist at all, will players be unable to save their game? It's absurd.

There's nothing wrong with the servers. For me, I just tried several times and it worked.

I just tried again to register an account and had the same problem. The game says "login failed."

Since an account is required to save the game, it is unplayable with this error. Where are the developers? Users having this problem are reporting it repeatedly on the forums. Can we get some support here?!

An account is not needed to save to your computer, it is just if you want to either make a backup, or sync your data to or from a device.

Ayy maybe you deleted your account .-. I have been asked many of times for people to friend me over this game. I hate that! I don't like the account login system in this game. It kinda sux :P
I would like it if RobTop fixed the login and register thing to make it look more "not" cheep.

I think you misunderstand; I could not have deleted my account because I have been unable to register one in the first place.

I've managed to create an account on the phone version, but it won't let me log in on the computer.
