Opening the level editor in Geometry dash 2.2 makes the game freeze and crash

Whenever I try opening the level I created in the level editor, the game freezes and then crashes. I can play the level perfectly fine but can't edit it. This bug has never occurred to me before the 2.2 update. Anybody know how to fix it?

I'm pretty sure you're right. In both levels I used MG, I had this problem, but no screen effect. It could be both, but MG is definitely a culprit.

well its too late for me. and i cant get into the editor to remove the middle ground

*I THINK I MAY HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION*

So I have been having this same issue multiple times, and I've been wondering what the issue is. But after doing some testing and watching videos on the issue, I think I've found what causes the crash.

If you have chosen any of the MIDDLE GROUND assets for your level, then try to re-edit your level, that's what causes it to crash most of the time.

I don't know why the middle ground does this, but that's what I've been able to find.

oh yeah let me just verify bloodbath so i can practice to play the actual bloodbath :/

Mine is just crashing no matter what, so even if I make a new level and open it, my game crashes.
